ETHIOPIA

Robert and Sheena Revie (DPG Ethiopia 1969-79) - Please pray for the ongoing translation and editing work in Ethiopia. Robert and Sheena are hoping to have eight Postal Sunday School/BES books printed as soon as possible, which will be a great help to the children in Ethiopia. Pray that the Lord will continue to give them strength and encouragement in this ministry.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Paul and Dorothy Grieve would value prayer for the postal situation in South Africa, as a number of the outlets have closed down and this could greatly affect the Emmaus work if the Post Office were to shut down entirely. Please pray that the Lord will overrule in this situation.

THAILAND

Fabrizio and Elaine Toni would value prayer as they settle into their new roles in Thailand. Fabrizio has settled in well to his teaching role. Please remember them both in their ministries and pray that they will be given the strength and encouragement required to begin this new stage of life.

BAHAMAS

Mark and Carol Lacey would value prayer for their return to the Bahamas on 4th September, please pray that the Lord will keep them safe on their journey and that he will give them the strength needed for the heavy workload they face upon their return.

ETHNIC MINORITIES

Ruth Cushing will be taking a period of leave this week to both reflect and take some time to rest from the busyness of this year. Please remember her in your prayers, that the Lord will use this time as a period of renewal and that she will come back refreshed to continue in her ministry for Him.

FRANCE

Mike and Alison Packer - Please pray for the situation regarding their church move as they currently do not know where the church will be able to meet from October onwards. Pray for the assembly during this time and that the believers will not be discouraged from attending the meetings.

David and Brigette Sutherland - David will be speaking at a camp from 5th-12th September. The camp will be based in Saint Lunaire, Brittany, and will be for those aged over 60. Please pray for him in this ministry and for those who attend to be brought closer to the Lord.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin would value prayer for a busy month ahead, where they will be distributing gospel literature to every home in Cootehill and involved in a Bible Exhibition for young people. In addition, they will be involved in a number of prize-giving’s and regular assembly activities. Please remember Noel and Liza in your prayers during this busy time, and pray for Noel as he travels to England and Scotland to share reports and Bible teaching.

Andrew and Gillian Shanks - A number of “John 3 bags” were distributed in Co Limerick and over 30 children attended a holiday club arranged through the assembly. Please pray for the contacts made during these activities and that they will be encouraged to attend the weekly activities arranged through the church. Andrew and Gillian would also value prayer for the selling of their house, pray that the Lord will work in this situation and help them with what lies ahead.

ITALY

David and Marion Mead (DPG Italy 1968-13) - David is continuing to improve following his pacemaker implant and will be meeting with the doctor on 3rd September for a follow-up appointment. Please pray for him as he is hoping to be told that he will be able to drive again.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett - Please remember Ken’s sketch board street ministry, which has recently faced police objection and is deemed to be an obstruction. Pray for Ken in this ministry and that the Lord will allow it to continue despite opposition. Ken and Alison would value prayer for a visit to Murcia for Bible teaching as well as representing the work of the Madrid Bible Teaching Centre. In addition, please pray for blessing on the congregation in the Vista Alegre zone and the full time workers there, Aurelio Esquembri and his wife Nani.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Paul and Dorothy Grieve hold a Gospel meeting twice a month for local elderly folk and recently had a Christmas tea where 40 attended. Pray that the messages spoken will have encouraged and touched hearts, particularly as many have confessed to being atheists. Prayer is asked for Lyn and her husband who regularly attend these meetings, but due to Lyn being in intensive care they were unable to attend the Christmas tea. They have been very open to Gospel teaching. Pray that what they have heard would be an encouragement to them during this time and that they would come to know Christ.

TANZANIA

Ron and Maria Cunningham (senior workers) ask prayer for three people who made professions of faith in Christ recently at an assembly in the region of Wareta. In this same region, on Christmas Day, they have planned a meeting for children and will provide a meal for them. Pray for the safety of the children as many travel long distances to attend, and that they would understand the Gospel message given.

ZAMBIA

Ian and Marilyn Campbell - Marilyn's eye surgery went well and she has returned home. Pray that she will make a full recovery. To help the healing process she must lie face down for two weeks with only very short breaks in between.

Timothy and Joy Beer - Recently, Tim and a number of local Christians have been able to spend time in two remote areas, giving Bible teaching in the mornings to believers, moving through the village areas from home to home in the afternoon, finishing with a gospel meeting at night in a suitable location. In these areas problems of drunkenness and young marriages are very prevalent. They are thankful that in both locations people were very happy to listen to and ask questions about the Gospel. In addition, the local opportunities for outreach in the Manyinga area continue. Each day the Gospel is presented in the hospital wards, with additional staff devotions two mornings each week. On Monday's, Tim and some of the local Christians either visit the hospital wards, or the local villages. Pray that these outreaches will be a means by which many would come to know Christ.

PAKISTAN

Harry and Stephanie Lannon - We have been informed that Stephanie's father was called Home on 19th December. Please pray for Stephanie, her mother, and all the family at this time.

FRANCE

Janice Duffin - Pray for her as she continues her ministry to non-Christians, meeting them in their homes, in town for coffee, or in her own home. Pray that Janice would make a difference to their lives, and that having invited several to Christmas dinner they may see the expression of God's love in this hospitality.

Ian and Françoise Newberry - Prayer is asked for Michäel, his wife Alexandra, and a team of 30 helpers, as they organize a national evangelistic event for young people in Valence from 30th December - 1st January, where the Gospel will be preached to 1,500 participants. Pray that many believers will invite friends along and that it will be a time of blessing for all those who attend.

William and Liz Irwin - Recently Louis, the son of their neighbour was baptised. Pray for him, along with Luc and Emma, who as far as they know are the only believers in a large school of over 1,200 pupils. Pray also for Louis's older sister, that she too would come to know Christ.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin - The 3000 Gospel calendars distributed to the rural areas around Drum has been completed and during delivery of them there were opportunities to talk with people. Pray for those who receive the calendars that these would be a means of bringing many to Christ. Pray also for the ladies who attended a craft evening recently that the Gospel message shared during the evening would help them to think on spiritual matters.

ITALY

Paul and Nesta Volle (DPG 1976-2011) live at Eckling Grange where a new pastor/chaplain Ian Masson has just been appointed, giving ministry to the elderly residents in the home and bungalows, and also the staff. Pray for him and for the ministry support team. In addition, Paul has taken the opportunity of going door to door on an estate nearby and some have received a Gospel booklet. Pray that there would be further contacts with an opportunity to share the Gospel.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett Please pray for a lunch which is being organised on 22nd December for the young people who hang around the Kofi Jaus (Coffee House). The deal is that they help cook it and then they eat it! Pray for the conversations and questions that arise, and that the Lord would direct their hearts to Him and His Word.

OTHER OVERSEAS SERVICE

Peter and Sandra Brind are travelling to the Bahamas on December 31st where they will spend time at Seaside Gospel Chapel, Guana Cay and also Marsh Harbour Gospel Chapel, returning to the UK on February 26th. Pray for safety in travel and that they would be a blessing and encouragement to the believers they meet.

FINALLY

ZAMBIA

Ian and Marilyn Campbell - Marilyn's eye surgery has been brought forward and is now scheduled for 16th December. Pray that the surgery would go well and that she will make a full recovery.

Steve and Jo Grove have invested time into Jo's tutor group this past year as a primary area of influence. This has led to lots of meals, games nights, lunch time Bible studies, giving the children verses or articles to read, and counselling and praying with individuals. Please pray for this group as Steve and Jo head into another year with them, and before they graduate in November 2015.

Eric and Margaret McCaughren - Please continue to pray for the four college Bible studies being held each week at The School of Nursing, Vocational Training College, College of Education and Mukuba University, and pray that others will soon begin in Kitwe College and Copperbelt University.

INDIA

Ron and Lilo Penny - Please pray for Lilo who has broken her wrist, that she will make a full recovery and no longer be restricted because of the breakage.

PERU

Richard and Pam Harknett - Richard has recently been able to travel to the mountains to teach courses, which were postponed due to his surgery which took place in August. They give thanks that retreats and courses over the past few months have been successful, and ask prayer for Richard and Luis Mostacero as they prepare to travel to the jungle for teaching programmes in January and February 2015. Pray that Richard will soon make a complete recovery.

ISRAEL

George and Ros Khalil (national workers Emmaus Bible School Ministry, Nazareth) are planning to hold a special Christmas programme on December 20th for children and their families. They ask prayer that the Lord will lead them in the preparation of the programme, and that many would attend. They have been encouraged recently when two families they have contact with through the children have started to attend the assembly. Pray for the follow up and discipling of these families, and for more to join.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Di Barry - Prayer would be valued as she distributes Gospel calendars in the classroom, and in towns within a twenty mile radius. The calendars include a verse each month and further information on the back for the Vietnamese in their own language.

ETHNIC MINORITIES

Ruth Cushing - Toxteth Women's Centre will be holding their Christmas party on December 18th, and after games and food, Fliss, the Centre Manager will give a talk on presents entitled 'God gave us a present so that we can have a future'. Pray for God's blessing on this.

FRANCE

Graham and Alison Black - Graham has been asked to speak at a special Christmas dinner that a small assembly along the coast is organising and where Graham often preaches. They ask for a time of blessing on this occasion as many unbelievers will be attending.

Chris and Michelle Hall will be taking part in the Laval Christmas service in the local prison on 20th December. Pray for all those who attend.

Mike and Alison Packerask prayer for the Christmas outreach services being held at Laval this weekend. On Saturday 20th they will hold an English Carol service for expats and French who enjoy listening to English, and on 21st will be holding a French family Christmas outreach, which will include songs, sketch readings etc. Pray for family and friends who have been invited, and also for those who participate, that they all may be encouraged to seek more about the Saviour.

David and Brigitte Sutherland ask prayer for a Christmas outreach being held on 20th December in a hired hall which will accommodate 400 people.

Colin and Maureen Crow would value prayer for two outreach meals to be held on 20th December for the poor in the city of Montpellier. Pray that there would be enough volunteers to help, for those who will give a Christmas message, and that there will be good communication between all those who attend.

Gerry and Dorothy Seed would value prayer for their main Christmas outreach event on December 21st, when a presentation will be made through drama and music, and some brief testimonies will be given. Pray for the invitations given to both personal friends, and to those living within the locality of the assembly. In addition, pray for the distribution of gifts on 21st December to prostitutes on the city streets, that the love of God will shine into the darkness and transform their lives.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Andrew and Gillian Shanks - The assembly has been invited to sing carols in the town square on 20th December and they would value prayer for this event. In addition, please pray for the distribution of 3,000 Gospel calendars and for the billboard being displayed at the main roadside through Newcastle West, depicting the Nativity scene with a text.

ITALY

Erion and Victoria Pici are planning a candlelit carol service for the 21st December. Please pray that the service will offer an opportunity to remember Christ and celebrate His birth.

Andy and Ruth Hamilton would appreciate prayer partners to join them in praying for Monte Porzio, after a few months of disappointment and discouragement at the lack of response for the 'Exploring Christianity' and 'English informal conversation' class which they had arranged.

OTHER OVERSEAS SERVICE

Colin and Liz Breeze - Grace Dickinson, Liz's mum has been called Home. Please pray for them and all the family at this time.

Peter and Riitta Hedley ask prayer for staffing needs at The Hiding Place, Gjirokaster, Albania, mainly due to staff illness. Pray for a full recovery of those who are ill, for provision and replacement of staff, and someone to oversee the orphanage in the coming years.

Derek and Heidi Malcom - Derek plans to visit Istanbul towards the end of February 2015, please pray for preparations for his visit.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Paul and Dorothy Grieve - On December 11th an annual Christmas tea is scheduled for the elderly who live in a retirement village in Port Shepstone. For many years they have held Gospel meetings twice a month in this complex. Pray that many will attend and that there will be opportunities to share the Gospel message.

TANZANIA

Ron and Maria Cunningham (senior workers) Ron has just returned from a trip into the Manyara region with evangelist Ombeni, where they were able to share and minister to the assemblies. Ron asks prayer that there will be a continuing witness in this area. In another region they visited (called Wiretrap), a severe water shortage has caused many farmers from great distances to herd their cattle to this place which is the only source of water for many miles. Prayer is asked that this source will last until the rains arrive in January.

We have been informed that Norma Riddell (DPG 1969-1998) was called Home on 1st December. Please pray for Robert and all the family at this time.

ZAMBIA

Jamie and Marilyn McIlree - Please pray for the family, especially Marilyn who has had complications with her pregnancy and found it necessary to travel to South Africa for treatment. The pregnancy is still at risk and they would appreciate earnest prayer. Pray that the care given will enable her to return home and sustain a good measure of health.

Barry and Rachel Haigh (DPG 1966 - 2006) - Pray for them as their visit to Zambia draws to a close. Pray for safety in travel as they return to the UK on 10th December. Heavy rain and very hot weather has caused severe cases of malaria. They ask prayer for a girl (7yrs) who is very ill with malaria. She was sent to Mwinilunga hospital for treatment but returned immediately due to there being no suitable drugs available to administer.

INDIA

Ian and Anita Elliott - Give thanks that Anita has arrived safely in the UK. Pray that they would have an enjoyable family time together, and pray that the long term visa solution will be resolved.

PHILIPPINES

Jonathan and Jingle Bradford give thanks that after a history of multiple miscarriages Jingle is expecting twins. The pregnancy is still in the early stages and they would appreciate prayer for normal development, for Jingle's health, and for wisdom and guidance to decide whether to stay in the Philippines or return to the UK.

BRAZIL

Jeff and Denise Watson - On the 3rd December they will travel to Vitoria where Jeff has an appointment with a back surgeon on 4th December. At this appointment they will be informed of the date of surgery (possibly 15/16th December). Recuperation could take initially forty days and they plan to return to Foz on 31st January. Pray that all arrangements and travelling would go smoothly, that the surgery would be successful, and Jeff would make a swift and good recovery. In addition, they would value prayer for the church in Foz during their absence.

Walter and Elizabeth Alexander - Earlier in November they were invited to take part in the inauguration of a new hall in the Tempo Novo district of Ituiutaba. Pray that the outreach work will continue, that many will be encouraged to attend the assembly.

PANAMA

Clive and Hazel Walker are waiting for a shipment from Everyday Publications in Canada bringing 12,000 booklets on the story of Cain and Abel, which they are going to distribute with Gospel calendars. Pray for all those who will receive them.

ALBANIA

Enri and Sylvia Nase hosted a group of eight young people from Germany and Austria in September. They were able to take part in evangelism, children's meetings and at the end of the week organised an outreach night. A young man who came along to this outreach has since attended the assembly meetings and Bible study. Pray for his salvation and also for the salvation of a young lady who has recently shown interest in spiritual things, requesting a Bible and studying an Emmaus course. In addition, pray for the new outreach tool in Albania - Bible exhibitions. There has been much interest and many have visited the exhibitions held in Laς and Lezha. Pray that similar events would be possible.

FRANCE

David and Brigitte Sutherland - On 20th December a Christmas outreach will take place and they have hired a hall with 400 seats. Pray that as the invitations are given out people will be encouraged to attend.

Ian and Franςoise Newberry - During 2014, over 1000 people in France have attended one of Ian's seminars on prayer. Pray that people who attended will rediscover joy in the presence of God, cultivate new habits, and thus revive prayer in the life of the family and in the local Church.

GREENLAND

Hans and Jonna Sivertsen would value prayer for their ministry and outreach in Nuuk. They have had several newcomers to the church. Pray for a family now attending as the result of a summer camp, the wife is a believer but not the husband. They have three children. Pray also for a lady baptised recently, and for a young girl (aged 12) who has asked for baptism.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin - Please pray for the ongoing local visitation work and the distributing of gospel calendars round the rural homes, within a 10 mile radius of the Drum assembly. Around 3,400 homes will be visited. In addition, they would value prayer that the planning of next year's annual Prizegivings will be organised in accordance with the Lord's will.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett - Give thanks for the completion of construction and extension work in the premises of the Alcalá church, so that the congregation can return. Pray that the extra space will be used to reach out over Christmas, and that final building opening licences would be forthcoming from the City Council.

FIRSTSERVE

All of the FirstServers have now finished their UK church placements. Abigail, Anna and Hazel got on well at their assigned churches and have been a great encouragement to everyone they met. Continue to pray for them as they prepare for their overseas placement.

ANGOLA

Jonathan and Ruth Singleton - have recently returned to Angola for a two month visit. Please pray for wisdom in knowing how to prioritise and complete the practical tasks they will now be tackling. These include agricultural and building projects, and helping the special needs children in the school.

MOZAMBIQUE

Patrick and Grace Mulenga - Preparations are underway for the December Bible Holiday children's meetings. Please pray for the 150-200 children who are expected to attend.

TANZANIA

Margaret Dalton (1951-1974) was called home to be with the Lord on 21 October. She had been very ill and had been admitted to a hospice. Please remember her family in your prayers.

ZAMBIA

Peter and Isla Gill - advise that the Kalene Hydro Scheme is currently not working as efficiently as they would wish. Please pray that the problem will be quickly identified and that normal power will be resumed.

Stephen and Jo Grove - Please pray for a young man from the youth group who has recently made a profession of faith, and also for Frank, who is soon to get baptised. At Amano school, Stephen is going through the gospel of John with some of the boys from his class and Jo is looking at Proverbs with three girls from her tutor group. Please remember the family as they prepare to return to the UK on 25th November for 6 weeks.

ARGENTINA

Heber and Fiona Gallitto would value prayer for the family as they have suffered from several health issues. Heber and Fiona plan to go on furlough from the 17th of December. Pray that they would have peace of mind for those they are leaving behind in Argentina.

Dick and Irene Robertson (Senior & Retired Workers) – Please remember them in your prayers. Dick is no longer able to drive. His son still drives him to the meetings to see people at the assembly, and although he hears very little of the sermon, people are very glad to see him and shake his hand as they leave. Their daughter will hopefully be able to take them on holiday the beginning of next year, pray for them both, that they would know continued strength in the Lord.

BAHAMAS

Mark and Carol Lacey will be away from the Haven for two weeks in the Abacos Islands to both counsel and minister in the assemblies. Please pray for safe travel between the islands and for a profitable time with those they share fellowship with. Pray for those who are at the Haven, both staff and students, it has been a great encouragement to see people come to Christ and grow spiritually. Recently Mark and Carol have been unwell, please pray that their health will improve and that God will give them strength.

PANAMA

Clive and Hazel Walker would appreciate prayer for their return to Panama. They arrived back in Panama last Friday. Pray for them as they settle back into their ministry and for the spiritual growth of the church in Atalaya.

FRANCE

Christian and Catherine Moreau would value prayer for three baptisms due to take place on the 16th of November in Laval, pray this would it be a blessing to all the family and friends who attend. In addition please pray for the ongoing practical work in St Lunaire, this week there will be a work party in which Christian will be helping with.

ITALY

David and Marion Mead (Senior & Retired Workers) – David has now had the final visit to the clinic for his condition of Cellulitis, and Marion will now continue the dressings at home. Please continue to pray for him during this time, that he will make a full recovery.

Andy and Ruth Hamilton – Please pray for the Christianity Explored course they are offering to people in the area, so far the numbers have been few, however, they continue to pray that more will attend.

NORWAY

Niklas and Ellen Kreander - Ellen is suffering from an incurable virus called encephalitis, which is rare but extremely serious. She will be out of action for a while so Niklas has been taking care of the children. Niklas’ mother will be staying with them for the beginning of November, so they have some extra help. Please pray for all of the family during this difficult time and especially for Ellen, that her health will improve.

ROMANIA

Tim and Jenny Gooding – Please pray for them over the next two weeks as they give reports about the situation in Romania. This Saturday they will be speaking at the Merseyside Ladies Missionary Conference in Wallasey, and at Bethesda in Bebington on Sunday.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett - Are thankful for the recent visit from a group from Chard in Somerset, committed to helping with the Kofi Jaus projects in the district where the assembly premises are situated. Please pray that the Lord will open the hearts of those who have heard His Word as a result of this.

LEBANON

Andrea Smith has recently torn ligaments in her ankle and is now making good recovery. Please pray for her, that she will continue to improve and make a full recovery. Andrea’s parents, Peter and Anne, plan to visit Andrea at the end of the month. Please pray that they will have a safe journey.

LESOTHO

Mark and Malichaba West - Their furlough which was due to begin this month has been delayed due to Malichaba’s visa application being refused. Pray that this may soon be resolved and that the family would be able to travel to the UK without any further complications.

TANZANIA

William and Eunice Rea - As the new Bible college year begins at Berea pray a good number of students will be able to attend. Circumstances often stop them from beginning the courses or continuing them.

ZAMBIA

Julie-Rachel Elwood continues with her Sunday ’run’ collecting people on her bike/trailer so that they can attend services at the mission. Pray for safety as travel is fraught with danger due to inexperienced drivers and bad roads.

Eric and Margaret McCaughren - Prayer is asked for the BMTZ Missions Conference taking place at the premises of GLO, Ndola from 11th - 14th August. Pray for all who attend, the various speakers, including Eric who will be leading daily devotions and also speaking on ’Commendation to God’s service’. They ask that God’s Word may be used by the Holy Spirit to effectively challenge, enlighten and guide those in leadership, and those whom the Lord may be calling into His service.

PAKISTAN

Yunis Lal Din - Please continue to pray for him and his family. Shiesh and the children are due to travel back to Canada on 12th or 13th August to join her husband Josh who has already returned to continue his studies. Pray for safety in travel and that Shiesh will have a good flight home. Pray for them as a family as they adjust to normal life after such a traumatic time.

Walter and Elizabeth Alexander ask prayer for a Missionary Conference sponsored by most of the assemblies in the Minas Triangle which is planned for the 15th - 16th August. Workers from a wide area of Brazil, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe will give reports. The subject for the two day event is Revival. Six ministry sessions are planned and Walter will be one of the speakers.

Joel and Amanda Burger - Please continue to pray for the work at l’Eau Vive. Along with teams of volunteers from UK, Canada, Austria etc they have held 2 family camps and a senior camp, all of which went very well. Pray for a continuing sense of unity during the rest of the summer activities.

In addition, they have been looking into alternative schooling for Marc but he will now return to the same school. Pray that he will continue to do well and that Marc, and his brother Alex, will both enjoy the new challenges of a new school year.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Andrew and Lorna Burt - Please continue to pray for the second week of the GLO outreach in Enniscorthy. 50 teenagers have registered for this and the week will focus on a 5-evening youth club with lots of different activities, and a drama and Bible discussion. Pray for all those attending, for the GLO team and for the 15 teenagers from the local youth group who have volunteered to help. In addition, there will be a Family day, a Beautiful Women’s night, over 60’s tea, a 3-morning kid’s club, and the distribution of 4,000 Gospel leaflets.

Andy and Gillian Shanks - would appreciate prayer as they take their Exhibition Unit (with Gospel Literature) to a show at Co Limerick on 16th August. Pray that the weather would be favourable and that many would stop to make enquiries at the stand.

ROMANIA

Tim and Jenny Gooding ask prayer for the youth camp led by the local gypsy church from 11th - 16th August.
