Prayer Newsletter - June 2016

And Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.” 2 “No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.” 3 “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed. 4 “The bows of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled are girded with strength.”

1st Samuel Chapter 2: 1-48

All like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all
Isaiah 53:6

Last month we looked at the example Hannah from the Old Testament and the importance of prayer during difficult times in our personal life. This month we carried on in the story and looked at the following chapter where Hannah was able to give a prayer of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord because he had answered her prayers. It is always important to give thanks to God when he answers our own prayers. It can be very easy in life to move on when things are going our own way and become proud, however like Hannah, we should always acknowledge what the Lord has given us.

The month of June is really when the summer activities start for Bethany with the commencement of the joint evening services with Kilnside and Renfrew. Please pray that these services can provide a time of fellowship and refreshment for all who attend during the summer months. Our annual prizegiving service again takes place in June with the Sunday School leading the family service and showing everyone what they learned during the year. Please also pray for the final build up for Camp 2016 which takes place on the 4th to 8th of July. Please also remember in your prayers the final weeks of Incy Wincy's before they finish for the summer holidays
