What's on

Church Ministries

We have raised our hopes and our cities high
We have followed fragile dreams
But only One could take the measure of our goals
And we've stumbled over the trials of life
And we've wrestled the unseen
But only One can calm the storm inside our souls

In the hands of God we will fall
Rest for the restless, and the weary
Hope for the sinner
In the hands of God we stand tall
Hands that are mighty to deliver
Giving us freedom

When our strength gave way to the weight of guilt
'Til we strained for every breath
Only One could lift our shame and make us well
And when all is finished and we face
The fearsome power of death
Only One has overcome the gates of hell

You're amazing
You're amazing, You are
And we praise You, Lord
For what Your hands have done

The First Advent

The arrival of the Lord Jesus Christ is the most talked and written about event in history and for many the most significant. The Saviour of the world was born in circumstances not expected of a King. No room in the inn rather a stable and a manger for Him. His coming was not observed by many, there were some shepherds who came after they were told by the angels and the Magi who travelled a great distance. How different then the Second Advent will be when we will see Him come in power and triumph. Let us celebrate this Christmas the Messiah who is worthy of all our praise and worship.

Christmas Family Service Sunday 20th December

This month there will once again be many events going at Bethany, with all the Church activities arranging some special Christmas celebrations. There will also be the Christmas Family Service this year on Sunday 20th December with Willie Hutchison the speaker. Please pray for those who have invited friends to some of these events, some of whom don't go to a church service at any other time in the year. There will be parties for the children at Incy Wincy's, 630 Club, Sunday school as well as the young people of the Buds, Growing Christians and Camp club.

Mission Focus

Last month we had a visit from Brian Hawthorn from Renfrew that was both an introduction and report of the work that he and his wife Liz are involved in.

Here are some of the items mentioned and also the prayer points given. There was a Ladies' Day held on 24 October with teaching given by Valerie Murphy. Prayer is requested for the SU programme, ‘Bubblegum and Fluff’, being held in the church 1-4 December for 300 Primary 6 children from 5 schools within the town. Pray for the special Christmas Family service, 20 December. Pray also for Brian and Liz as they prepare for the Christmas Day Service.

Glory to God in the highest and to earth peace, goodwill toward men!
