The angels watched in mystery
As You took off Your glory
Instead You put on human skin
To reconcile all things again

You stepped into the darkest night
To blaze the skies with heaven's sign
That we all matter, we are loved
That Your heart beat's strong for us

What a picture of love

You are magnificent You are magnificent
You are my rescuer

You light the darkest night
You light the darkest night
You are the shining star

The angels watched in mystery
As You bore all our misery
The hands that crafted worlds and stars
Chose the pain of human scars

Revelation 22:16

She will give birth to a Son and you will give Him the name Jesus.

Matthew 1:21

Zechariah

Christmas is coming so how are we looking forward to it? Perhaps this year we could consider a character that is seldom discussed. A man serving God in a way that was the pinnacle of his service and the angel Gabriel appeared with a message that although an answer to prayer he was left speechless through apparent disbelief. Later though when the realisation of what was happening after writing on a tablet (there is really nothing that is new) the name of the child he was able to write a song prophesying of the one who would prepare the way for the Messiah. This year may we all appreciate the joy of the Lord Jesus coming into the world. Andy Wilson

Bible Teaching

We will continue with our look at Christmas characters that will supplement our look last year at Angels, Shepherds and the Magi. This time Derek Malcolm will be looking at King Herod, not one of the good characters, nevertheless reflective of rulers who even today persecute believers in Christ. David Wilson will be looking at those who met the baby Jesus in the temple.

In January we will have special series on the Tabernacle with Bobby Jack, missionary in Argentina. Bobby will bring his model with him on Tuesday 6th, Thursday 8th and Sunday 11th.

Jairah Funds

Jairah Funds had a very busy month in November including attending a Christmas fayre, applying for a large government funding application and not least organising the Ladies afternoon tea fundraising event at Stock Street Church, recently acquired for the benefit of Jairah Funds work. The afternoon consisted of a presentation into the work of Jairah Funds, a selection of tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes and finally a variety of different stalls. The event was able to raise over £1,200, for Jairah Funds which would not have been achieved without the hard work of Jairah Funds team of volunteers. Jairah Funds would like to say thank you for all the support from everybody at Bethany.

Christmas Events

The Sunday School Christmas Party was held on Saturday 6th of December and was enjoyed by all who attended. Nine came from the crèche, Sunday school and the bible class and enjoyed an afternoon of games, puzzles, food and a special visit from Santa.

Other Christmas events are planned with Fusion, Growing Christians/Bible Class, Incy Wincy's and Bethany Buds. Please pray for God's help and blessing.

The Christmas Family Service will be held on Sunday 21st December when the children of Sunday school will be involved in the Service. There will tea, coffee and juice as well as mince pies and other Christmas goodies served after the event in the café. Come along and join the children, parents and friends coming to the service.
