Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1

Lord, be my helper

Psalm 30:10

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made

Psalm 139:14

In every detail

For some time spent in the garden is an inspiration and pleasure, for other it is seen as a necessity, only doing what is essential. Surely though for each one there is a wonder in what our God has carefully planned and made. You only have to take a single plant to realise the details involved from seed to flower. How wonderful it is and if looked after carefully they can be seen and enjoyed at their best. So it is with us if we plant the seed in the will of God then we can leave it to Him to bring it to fruition. Nothing ever happens by chance it is has been carefully planned by God. Andy Wilson

Camp Correspondent

The Camp went to Lapwing Lodge on the 1st of June for an evening that included Archery, High Ropes and an assault course. The evening ended with a barbeque that was enjoyed by around 60 kids. The next Camp event to be held is in Johnstone on the 17th of June and is the Camp Coffee Night. This night allows campers and parents to find out what to expect for camp this year.

This will be our last full month in Villefranche, before moving to LeHavre. One of the recent “high-spots” in Villefranche was the baptism of three Christians on Palm Sunday. Normal attendance on Sundays is about 50, but on that day over 100 were present, including many who had never before attended an evangelical church service. We're grateful to God for the way the church has developed, for the French leaders with whom we've worked for the past 11 years, and for the growing commitment of a number of Christians in the fellowship. Please continue to pray for the church in Villefranche. The members would like to call a full-time worker - or couple - to come here after we leave, but there is not yet any definite answer. In the meantime, things are well under way for our various responsibilities to be handed on.

We'll be sorry to take our leave of the staff and residents in La Clairière nursing home. It has been a privilege to spend time there leading a regular Bible hour. A team from the assembly came with us for a special Easter service, and it was great to see about 40 residents there, out of a total of 64. The home, run on Christian guidelines, but with very few Christian members of staff or residents, has an excellent reputation for the quality of care it offers. A constant challenge faced by the Christian manager is that of finding suitable staff, particularly para-medicals. If you can, please give it a regular place in your prayers.

Le Havre will be a challenge for us. While we know the city well, after living there from 1986 to 2000, the church we'll be working with has changed greatly. Numbers have dwindled, and the involvement of the present leaders is limited because of serious health problems. Will you pray with us that, by God's grace, our service in Le Havre will produce “fruit in season?”

The Lord bless you
