What's on

Church Ministries

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

Phil Wickham

The disciples were amazed at His words.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

John 15:13

There will be occasions in our lives when we say that we are amazed. At this time of the year this may be our expression when we look around and see some of the wonders of God's creation in the garden. You do not have to have a deep knowledge of gardening to appreciate some of the wonderful plants and flowers on display, although it does require some ability to put on a show. The ultimate amazement however for the believer is that the Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to live his life knowing that he would die on the cross at Calvary for the sin of this world. That the Son of God would lay down His life is truly the most remarkable event this world has ever know. While not everyone acknowledges Christ as Saviour, for the Christian he is our Messiah and Lord of our life. May we indeed be truly amazed.Andy Wilson

This year prizegiving Sunday will be the 22nd of June at 12 noon. The speaker for the occasion will be David Buchan from Dumbarton. We will be making the service a bit special by having a strawberry tea afterwards. This part of the event is opportunity to have an informal chat with those who have come along to the church. So please pray for all involved, the speaker and the children taking part and join with us in the café afterwards.

Camp Correspondent

Camp 2014 is edging closer as the work for Camp continues. A special night out was held at Lapwing Lodge on the 14th of May. The evening went well, with big games played and a BBQ that was enjoyed by all who attended.

Mission Focus

Mission Focus looked at the work of OMF in Asia and in particular the country of Japan. This nation has proved to be an extremely challenging task to evangelise over many years. It has been a hard slog for the missionaries to make in roads for the gospel. The Japanese attitude and dedication to work makes it difficult to build up relationships, it can take years. Nevertheless there has been some blessing. It was encouraging to learn that some Christians who are in business in Asia are able to have opportunities to share the gospel. Pray for believers in this continent especially China as recently built churches are threatened with demolition as the countries leaders get nervous about Christianity.

The Joint services with Kilnside and Renfrew will commence on Sunday evening 8th June. The first service will be Kilnside, with Gordon Dunbar from Ayr the speaker. In the Month of July, Renfrew will host the services and in August it will be our turn to host the services at Bethany.

Steve Moss will speak at Bethany on Sunday 1st June, completing his series of talks on Angels.

So great is His unfailing love.
