What's on

Church Ministries

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

But, Lord, 'tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast

Isaiah 26:3

You ought to live holy and godly lives

2 Peter 3:11

There is a comment you may be familiar with that sport is not what it should be, "there is too much cheating". The same could be said of other areas of life as well. Honesty is rarely found virtue but very welcome nevertheless making decisions more straight forward. In the Scriptures Paul when appearing before Felix states that "I strive to keep my conscience clear before God and man". It is important for the believer to be like Paul and display such an attitude, as it will stand out in the world in which we live. Hopefully by being Christ like we will point others to Him, by the manner that we live. Let us be encouraged that this is the proper behaviour for Christians and that we can be a light shining brightly in this world. Andy Wilson

Mission Focus

Last month Mark Wilson gave a presentation on the recent UK Emmaus Conference. Looking at the work of Emmaus in countries like Rwanda, with Peter Andrews giving a report. There were reports of the work in the UK at the Bible Centres in Manchester, Newcastle, Northern Ireland as well Paisley. Prison rehabilitation work reports from Stephen Clegg and Wesley Downs, which God is richly blessing. This month will be a Summer Mission Focus led by Mark Wilson.

Prizegiving Sunday 28th June

Jonny Renfrew and Sarah Hutton have safely returned from Zambia where they visited Ian and Marlyn Campbell. It is hoped we will hear something of the visit at a future Mission Focus.

Please pray for the activities that will wind down in June for the summer break, Incy Wincy's, Growing Christians and Aqua.

This year prizegiving Sunday will be the 28th of June at 12 noon. This is always a good opportunity to invite friends and family to join with us as we have time for a chat afterwards at the 'Strawberry Tea'. So please pray for all involved, the speaker and the children taking part and join with us in the café afterwards

Bible Teaching

The joint services with our friends from Renfrew and Kilnside commence on Sunday 7th June at Albert Hall with Gary Blair from Motherwell the speaker. We will be at Bethany in July and at Kilnside in August.

Camp News

The pre-camp trip to Lapwing Lodge last month went well with favourable weather. The next pre-camp event the Camp Coffee Night was held at Bethany on Friday 5th of June. Please continue to pray for speaker Iain Cunningham, the leaders and campers as they prepare for camp.
