What's on

Church Ministries

In my wrestling and in my doubts
In my failures You won't walk out
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea

In the silence, You won't let go
In my questions, Your truth will hold
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea

My Lighthouse, my lighthouse
Shining in the darkness, I will follow You
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
I will trust the promise,
You will carry me safe to shore

Jesus said "I am the light of the world."

John 8:12

Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?

Nehemiah 6:3

Testing Times

Over recent months Marc and Steve have been leading us through the book of Nehemiah. It is a remarkable description of rising to the challenge, commencing and completing the commission. Nehemiah was an inspirational leader who prepared and organised the people to rebuild the city walls. The reason the message of Nehemiah is so well known is due to the successful completion of the walls. This is both a spiritual and a practical lesson for the church today. Like Nehemiah we need to pray at the outset, continue to pray as we progress and in testing times, pray then as well. The people were given a task to do, able to work together to finish the work., despite the opposition from those who attempted to stop the work. May we as believers be faithful in our service for God day by day by being resolute when our faith is testedAndy Wilson

Jairah Funds

Jairah Funds Coffee Morning at Bethany on the 26th of April, proved to be great success. The selection of Home Baking, the 'bring and buy' stall, the second hand books, and car wash was greatly appreciated. All proceeds of the Coffee Morning will go towards Jairah Funds latest project in Ghana, the upgrading of a safe house in Ghana. Thank you to all who helped and to those who supported the event.

Mission Focus

Mission Focus looked at the work of Jairah Funds when Mark Wilson gave a very interesting presentation. It was good to learn of all the work done in the Glasgow office in Dumbarton Road. We heard of the building of houses in Orissa, India, for the Christians who suffered persecution. It is remarkable that a house can be built for £500 and the outreach work in North India that is carried out to spread the gospel to unbelievers. We also learned of the projects supported in South America including; the children's school and rehab centre in Rio, Brazil as well as the bible school in Bolivia. Please remember Finlay, Stuart and Frank as they aim to go out to Ghana to represent Jairah Funds and all the safety and administrative issues that come with the trip.

Please remember those of Bethany at school, college and university this month as they prepare and sit their exams. It always a demanding time though all very necessary.

Now it is required that those who have been given
a trust must prove faithful
