Church Ministries

Could it possibly be
That we simply can't believe
That this unconditional
Kind of love would be enough
To take a filthy wretch like this
And wrap him up in righteousness
But that's exactly what He did

No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless
No matter the hurt
Or how deep the wound is
No matter the pain
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

Mercy Me

The cross … to us being saved it is the power of God

1 Corinthians 1:18

Making peace through His blood shed on the cross

Colossians 1:20

Make Time

It is worth considering the Bible teaching last month when Peter McGregor was giving some helpful guidance on our personal Bible reading. The time we spend as well as how we use it is important for every believer. Something to try is focusing on between ten and twelve verses, even reading them aloud, if the circumstances are appropriate. When you do this with scripture it encourages us to meditate on what God is actually saying to us in a particular passage. We could also take the words of a hymn or use the thought on the song on the front cover about the cross. This will enable us to appreciate the great blessings we have been brought into when we come to faith in Christ. To accomplish this we have to make the time available to allow God to speak to us from His Word, not easy, though it can be done. May we do this to the glory of God. Andy Wilson

Mission Focus

Mission Focus last month was led by Mark Wilson when there was a talk on the work of Jairah Funds, what has happened in the last 18 months and what projects are supported. Please pray for the projects in North India Outreach, house rebuilding in Orissa, Bolivia Bible School and the Christian evangelising out to the unreached people groups.

There are some events planned this year you can attend and pray for, The Jairah Funds Dinner, Monday 2nd November, Christmas Fayre, on Tuesday 17th November. There will also be a coffee morning in Stock Street Church, Paisley, on 12th December.

This month's Focus will look at, OM and Renewal North West and the different work achieved by both.

Emmaus Centre, Cleveleys.

We are privileged to work for the Lord in personal evangelism at Fleetwood market 4 days a week and a weekly outdoor market in Kirkham, also working at many summer events and engaging in street evangelism.

The Bible stall includes display boards, free gospel literature and free Bibles. We are able to promote Salvation study courses, encouraging people to read and study the Word of God. Emmaus doctrinal courses are also now widely used by believers in Cumberland Chapel, and recently we used a course for marriage guidance for a newly saved couple, and praise the Lord they are now going on together, and also in happy Assembly fellowship!
