Beautiful Saviour, King of Creation
Son of God and Son of Man!
Truly I'd love Thee, truly I'd serve Thee,
Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.
Fair are the meadows, Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in the flowers of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.
Fair is the sunshine, Fair is the moonlight,
Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels in the sky.
Beautiful Saviour, Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honour, Praise, adoration
Now and forevermore be Thine!

Without faith it is impossible to please God

Promise of God

We should be aware of the promises made whether it be the advertiser, the politician or even a personal friend. Each may be sincere in attitude, approach and aspiration, however that may not be sufficient to supply what they have assured us. There will always be an explanation genuine or otherwise but in the end their words may not match the outcome.

How different with the promises of God they can be relied upon, look at His Word and see. The greatest promise of all was to send His Son, which was fulfilled at the cross. We should follow the example of Abraham "who did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God believing God had the power to do what He had promised" (Romans 4:20, 21). Let us do likewise. Andy Wilson

Shoe Box Appeal

Once again it is time for the Samaritans Purse Shoe Box Appeal. Please contribute again to this worthwhile cause, This will be the last time that Robert McCaig will be our co-ordinator, we are looking for a volunteer for next year to take over the task. A good opportunity to work alongside Robert and find out all that is involved.

Linthouse Monthly Bible Teaching, 7pm Saturday 19th October 2013

Mission Focus

Last month we looked at Syria and the current crisis there and how many people are suffering in the conflict, particularly the Christian community. This is a country we read about in the Bible, Damascus the city Paul was on his way to persecute the Christians until he met the risen Lord Jesus and was remarkably converted. Antioch was the city that believers were first given the title Christians. Please to continue to pray for the situation in Syria and for those such as Echoes who are trying to assist the believers there.

The Bible study will continue with our look at the book of Nehemiah. The next study will look at chapter 4.

If you subscribe to Echoes of Service Magazine it is time for renewal, this is a good time for others to order a monthly copy, a worthwhile investment indeed.

Prayer is required for Margaret Goudie as she recovers in hospital after her recent fall.

There is a Bible teaching meeting at Linthouse Gospel Hall, Saturday 19th 7.00pm, when Hamilton Welsh, Kilwinning, will be the speaker.

Christian Institute

Nigel Kenny will be with us on Sunday 6th October to give a word of ministry and a report of the work of the Christian Institute.

This is what He promised us - even eternal life
